Daniel J. Kersey

Daniel J. Kersey grew up in Brevard County, Florida. In 2015, Daniel earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida and became a Double Gator when he received his Juris Doctor with Honors in 2018. In law school, Daniel served as External Vice President for the Florida Moot Court Team, earning various accolades including “Top 20 Oralist” in the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition. He also served as the Senior Galleys Editor for the Journal of Technology Law and Policy and externed for the Honorable Wm. Terrell Hodges in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida’s Gainesville Division.

After earning his law degree, Daniel worked as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Third Circuit. In 2019, Daniel joined Phil Smith in McLin Burnsed’s Litigation Team and began defending and prosecuting commercial law matters with vigor and dedication. Daniel’s areas of particular interest include Construction Litigation, corporate member and shareholder disputes, and Guardianship and Trustee Litigation.

Daniel has been married to his wife, Megan, since 2020 and they welcomed their first daughter, Aubrey, in 2021. Daniel and his wife breed, train, and compete with German Shepherds in Internationale Gebrauchshunde Prüfungsordnung, “IGP” formerly also known as "IPO" and "Schutzhund" ("protection dog" in German). Daniel also enjoys adventuring with his family, agriculture, construction, and is currently training to be an IGP Training and Trial Helper.
